The world’s smallest skyscraper was basically a scam Back in 1919, a contractor named JD McMahon raised $200,000 from investors to build a skyscraper in Wichita Falls, Texas. The blueprints showed 480″ but investors assumed that meant feet, not inches. They got a 40-foot building. Nobody said read the fine print more clearly than that project
